“To keep the body in good health is a duty... otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.” Buddha

The fitness of your mind, body, and soul is the supreme asset of your life. Your body is a gift to survive and sustain, in this world. A healthy body supports a healthy mind and your overall well-being. Unfortunately, folks from all age groups, in the current world, are not able to escape the grasp of terminal diseases. Such a scenario is an early sign of watching your health with more attentiveness than before.

A full body checkup is a preventive method that is a must for keeping a check on your physical health. As your physical health has the capacity to build or break your overall well-being, a body check-up to monitor the various organs and their functions in your body can ensure a better and happier life.

The Idea of Preventive Health Check-up

A preventive health check-up, in simple words, is an assessment of your entire body and its functions. The test is conducted to confirm that there are no physical abnormalities in your body.

The diverse human bodies are responding differently to the changing climatic conditions in India. Thus, a preventive health check-up is done to keep a check on all the organs and their functions in your body. Diverse processes of screening are applied to assure that you are healthy, or to inform you in case of an impending health issue.

The listing of the tests may vary as per the different health check up packages offered by private and government labs. The general inclusions, however, are the tests for blood, chest, liver, heart, kidney, and lungs.

Who requires a preventive health check-up?

A full body health check-up is a preventive method to monitor the vital functions of your body. It is not mandatory, but advisory to get a health check-up done after a certain interval of time, which is suggested by medical practitioners.

A healthy human under the age of 30 can get a medical check-up done, for full body, after an interval of two years. But, it is suggested that you get a health check-up done every year if you are over 30. However, people with certain physical ailments or who are at potential risk of developing health issues, such as senior citizens, require full-body health check-ups on a regular basis, i.e. 6 months on average. A physician’s evaluation is a must, afterward, for feedback.

Rising Importance of Full-Body Check-Ups in India

Humans are becoming vulnerable to changing environmental conditions. Even in the chilly winter, the AQI is highest in several Indian states. The AQI status of Bihar is Severe followed by West Bengal, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh falling under the Poor status. The health conditions developed in human beings deteriorated further due to the declining quality of climate.

Besides, unstable living conditions, as indicated by the Ease of Living Index of MoHUA, are giving a poor experience of life to the citizens of India. All such things add up to declining health among many people. In a setup, where children to senior citizens are at risk of developing severe health issues, a comprehensive health check-up becomes indispensable.

Analyzing the Reasons and Advantages of Preventive Health Check-Ups

What makes comprehensive health check-ups important and how they support a healthy life for you can be analyzed by considering the following.

Reason #1 – Monitoring your Vitals

The performance of your vitals will let you know whether the organs of your body are functioning optimally. The vitals include respiration, pulse rate, body temperature, and blood pressure.

Advantage #1 – Tracking your Health

The detection of any disease that is developing can be tracked by monitoring your vitals. Consistent irregularity in your vitals can be a symptom of an impending health issue. Physicians can suggest lifestyle changes, on the basis of your reports, which can improve your overall health.

Reason #2 – Detection of Fatal Diseases

Tracking one’s health can let the physician know if someone is at risk of developing, or may have developed, a fatal disease. Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Tuberculosis, and Cancer are some of those diseases that are fatal in nature.

Advantage #2 – Diagnoses and Treatment at the Earliest

HIV can, gradually, develop into AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) if left untreated. A patient, who develops AIDS, in the absence of HIV treatment, can succumb to death, eventually. The case is similar to Cancer. Its cells take up the required space in your body, which affects the performance of other organs.

If detected early, all these diseases can be prevented from spreading further. Besides, Tuberculosis can be cured completely. A physician can prescribe the patient with advance testing, medicines, and lifestyle alterations that ensure an increased and healthier lifespan.

Reason #3 – Discovering Genetic Conditions

Diseases can be transmitted to offspring through parents. Some diseases might be passed on from one generation to another. Heart diseases, mental illnesses, and diabetes are such issues that are, often, hereditary.

Advantage #3 – Management of genetically acquired Health Conditions

Health problems that are passed on from generation to generation can be detected at the time of birth. However, some conditions are diagnosed when a person grows up. It, thus, makes full-body health check-ups inevitable for detecting these issues. One can receive help from their physicians to keep the condition from progressing by making changes in lifestyle and with prescribed medicines.

The Conclusive Remarks

A full body checkup is inevitable to prevent many diseases that can obstruct your lifestyle. Multitudes are suffering from various lifestyle conditions that are easy to diagnose with a fully-body health check-up.

Your doctor can advise you with a way forward after a comprehensive body check-up at regular intervals. Many health conditions can be managed or delayed by regular health check-ups. Your physician can, also, verify the effect of the medication on your body with the help of comprehensive body assessments. By verifying the effect of a medication, your doctor can make changes to your prescriptions.

No matter how much the living conditions are changing in the country as well as in the world, each effort should be targeted toward developing a healthy body. A healthy you is a strength to your nation. Therefore, take good care of your complete health. Incorporate healthy habits of a wholesome diet and physical exercise as a part of your daily routine. And, create space for planned health examinations in your schedule.
